Evolution is a fundamental concept in biology that explains the diversity of life, past and present. Understanding evolution is important because it explains how living things change over time and this knowledge is essential for effectively treating disease, growing crops, and saving endangered species from extinction.
It is our responsibility as scientists to educate the public about evolution. To this end, the Evolution Outreach Group aims to introduce and clarify basic concepts of evolutionary biology through interactive games and demonstrations that illustrate how evolution occurs. It is our goal that by making evolution fun and accessible we can encourage a life-long interest in science in K-12 students and the public in general.
